Having previously worked within the FE sector, our trainers understand the
specific pressures faced by today’s educational organisations, and use
their experience to provide appropriately tailored courses for post-compulsory
education teaching and non-teaching staff.
Training for the education sector
In addition to classic management development training, Academy Training Services
have worked with a number of FE colleges to develop specialist training aimed
at managers and teaching staff in such areas as:
- Providing feedback following classroom observations
- Using counselling skills to improve student retention, motivation
and achievement
- Negotiation skills and managing classroom conflict
- Planning and organising teaching workloads
- Teaching and learning skills improvements
We also train everyone, including support staff in general topics such
managing time, stress, assertiveness techniques, managing conflict etc

Tutorial Materials
Drawing on combined experience of business and educational requirements
and in-depth knowledge of social and behavioural skills development, Academy
Training Services have produced a series of tutorial materials that will
enrich learner’s enjoyment, personal development and achievement.
We offer time-restricted tutors pre-prepared tutorial lessons that will
ensure effective use is made of valuable group tutorial time.
Academy training services tutorial materials include engaging activities
that are designed to address the key issues of 16-19 year olds;
- providing them with essential study skills to optimise their achievement
- supporting their personal growth
- preparing them for employment or higher education.

Tutorial materials are presented as ‘lesson packs’
ready to photocopy and include a lesson plan, tutor notes, a list of resources
required, key evaluation criteria, and a master copy of handouts for the
students.
Each ‘lesson pack’ is provided copyright free*, either on
hardcopy, or for an additional fee, on a CD that can be loaded to your
college intranet for access by all tutors.
